AIC Ng’orng’oroi Primary School in Marakwet West has received a significant boost after the area NG-CDF allocated Sh2.8 million for infrastructure development and land acquisition.

Area MP Timothy Kipchumba announced that the funds will be used to construct an additional classroom and purchase land to cater for the school’s long-term spatial and academic growth.

“Through the Marakwet West NG-CDF, we have allocated Sh2.8 million to AIC Ng’orng’oroi Primary School. This allocation will directly support the construction of a new classroom and acquisition of land, addressing the school’s infrastructural gaps and future development trajectory,” said Kipchumba.

The announcement was made during an education development forum organised by professionals from the Ng’orng’oroi community. The group also mobilised additional resources to support the school’s urgent operational needs.

“The contributions raised today, in addition to the NG-CDF allocation, will go a long way toward meeting the school’s immediate and pressing needs,” Kipchumba noted.

The MP lauded the initiative by local professionals and alumni, calling their support a model of civic responsibility that complements government efforts to enhance education in rural areas.

“I sincerely thank the professionals from Ng’orng’oroi for their strategic and forward-looking intervention. Their commitment to investing in foundational education institutions is a demonstration of civic responsibility,” he said. “I encourage other professionals across the constituency to replicate this model and contribute meaningfully to institutions that shaped their academic and professional journeys.”

The event brought together education stakeholders, school board members, and local leaders, underscoring the importance of public-private partnerships in improving learning conditions in underserved areas.

School administrators welcomed the funding, saying the new classroom will ease congestion, improve the learning environment, and boost student retention and performance.

“This support couldn’t have come at a better time,” said one school official. “It will make a real difference in how we deliver education to our learners.”
