Girl Child Network (GCN) has trained 100 girls on the ways to take control of their lives as adolescents.
The training is being run in Garissa and Tana River Counties.
It is seeks to prevail on parents and communities to allow girls reach the right age before marriage so as not to jeopardise their future.
GCN aspires to change the tide and navigate through the troubled waters by driving in the girl child with skills to realise her rights and responsibilities.
‘’Our participation ladder begins from home and rises to government on issues relevant to children and protection,’’ said GCN Garissa team leader Francis Omariba.
Omariba said children have a right to communicate, access information and education from electronic and print media.
Tana North Education Officer Komora Karise Dhadho urged parents to guide their adolescent children to better future by allowing them to explore their potentials to the fullest so as to be better and responsible citizens.
