The ministry communicated the invitation through the County Directors of Education for Uasin Gishu, Nandi and Elgeyo Marakwet, directing principals of the selected institutions to facilitate the participation of their students.
The invitation forms part of preparations for the national Mashujaa Day celebrations, which honour Kenyans who have contributed to the country's liberation, development and progress, with school scouts and brass bands expected to add colour and ceremonial displays to an event that brings together national and county leaders, public institutions and members of the public.
Mashujaa Day is marked annually on October 20 and is one of Kenya's national public holidays. This year's celebrations will be hosted in Eldoret, the headquarters of Uasin Gishu County.
