Baricho Boys High School continues to dominate producing 30 students with grade A plain in the 2024 national examinations.
The school got five more grades A compared to last year where they had 25.
Some 100 students managed to get A minus, 93 B +, 83 with B plain, 55 B-, 41 C+, 17 C with the last one having a C -.
Senior Principal Benard Kingah said through a dedicated team,they have been able to produce such results.
“Through collaboration of our team we have been able to produce such grades, we also thank God for the favour,” said Kingah.
As giant national schools in Kirinyaga continue to dominate and record good performance, county and extra county gave unsatisfactory results in the 2024 national exams.
Kabare Girls also recorded improvement in their mean grades.
County and extra county schools still have to pull up their socks so as to compete with the national schools; despite recording a drop in mean grades, they are proud of good performance in individual subjects.

Babla Kang’aru Secondary School, a county level institution did not perform as expected but subjects like Computers and English are areas that they can be proud of.
Lucy Nyaga of Babla Kang’aru said, “We did not perform well this year but per single subjects like Computer, English we have done well”.
She said that change of attitude, showing concern should be a collaborative process between the parents and management.
“Mwea is known as a rice growing area, most students come from the locality they have a very negative attitude that needs to be changed and the change should be a collaborative approach from parents and teachers in the county and sub-county,” she went on to say.
