The Narok Branch elections of the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), suspended on January 11 due to security concerns, are now expected to be held on March 8, 2026, at the William Ole Ntimama Stadium.

The date is yet to be officially confirmed, and the union is expected to issue a circular to finalise the schedule.

The elections, originally held at Ole Tipis Girls High School, began peacefully as teachers from across the county arrived to cast their votes.

However, the exercise was abruptly halted when a group of individuals forced their way through the main gate, overpowering security and raising fears for the safety of voters, officials and election materials.

Narok Central Sub-County Police Commander Benson Pemba, who arrived at the scene with Returning Officer Rebecca Koskei and anti-riot police, confirmed that the disruption posed a serious risk, leaving election managers with no option but to suspend the polls.

Key positions contested included executive secretary, treasurer, and branch chairperson
