Narok High School has etched its name in history by becoming the first school in Narok County to host an alumni dinner, held on Friday, October 8 night at the Mara Frontier Hotel in Narok town.

The memorable event brought together former students from different generations, current teachers, and education stakeholders in a celebration of heritage, excellence, and renewed commitment to the school’s development.

Speaking during the dinner, Principal Malcom Mateu lauded the alumni initiative, describing it as a powerful bridge between past and present that would propel the school toward greater success.

“Alumni are the backbone of any strong institution. They carry the school’s story into the world, and their success becomes the mirror through which the school is seen,” said Mateu.

“When alumni return to support their school, they create a legacy of mentorship, generosity, and pride that inspires both students and teachers.”

He emphasized that the involvement of alumni plays a vital role in shaping the next generation through mentorship programs, career guidance, scholarships, and resource mobilization for academic and infrastructural improvement.

The dinner, which featured inspiring speeches and reunions, also served as a platform for former students to reconnect and strategize on how to give back to their alma mater.

Several alumni pledged to support ongoing projects at Narok High School and help nurture discipline, leadership, and academic excellence among current learners.

Guests hailed the event as a landmark moment that other schools in Narok County should emulate to foster community, strengthen identity, and drive long-term educational progress.

“When alumni come together, schools grow stronger, communities unite, and students gain hope for a brighter future,” said Dominic Sonkoi, one of the alumni.
