Narok County government has expressed joy over the stellar performance of students sponsored by the county in the recently released KCSE results.
Deputy Governor Tamalinye Koech noted that compared to the previous years, the students performed better, which he says is a result of the county’s efforts.
Addressing the press, he said Narok is the only county ensuring timely release of bursaries, stating the performance serves to motivate the county to continue doing so.
“We are so glad about our county’s performance. Unlike the previous year’s, our county posted good results and this is so encouraging,” he noted.
He expressed optimism of improved performance this year, even as he reiterated the county’s commitment to better academic levels in the region.

Koech also listed top 20 schools in the county, most of which are day schools, further commending education stakeholders for their continued cooperation.
“Most of the schools that performed well are day schools. This performance has motivated us and we shall ensure all bursaries are released in time. I am also happy about the cooperation among education stakeholders and would like to ask them to uphold the same,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Kenya National Union of Teachers, Kipkelion Branch has appealed for the speedy completion of Grade 9 classrooms in the region.
