Narok boys retain hockey title as thrilling county term one games conclude

Former national champions Narok Boys High School successfully defended their Hockey title after beating Ololulunga Secondary School 3-0 during the Narok County Secondary School Term One Games held at Narok Boys’ grounds. The hosts displayed discipline and tactical superiority to secure a comfortable win and once again stamp their authority in county football.

In the girls’ Hockey category, Ole Tipis Girls Secondary School delivered one of the most dominant performances of the tournament, thrashing Naarosura Secondary School 10-0 in a one-sided encounter that left little doubt about their quality.

Basketball action was equally exciting. Five-time champions Maasai Girls Secondary School proved their pedigree by overpowering Chebitoik Day Secondary School 47-15 in the girls’ final. In the boys’ category, Kilgoris High School stunned hosts Narok Boys High School with a convincing 50-32 victory to clinch the title.

In Rugby 15s, reigning champions Poroko Friends School from Transmara West delivered a commanding display to defeat Narok Boys High School 29-0.

Handball finals also attracted attention, with Olorukoti Secondary School beating Rongena Secondary School 30-11 in the boys’ match, while Olorukoti Secondary School edged Rongena Secondary School 18-15 in a tightly contested girls’ clash.

Narok County Secondary Schools Sports Association Vice Chairman Dr Parmale Kuluo hailed the competition as a major success, commending players for discipline and sportsmanship throughout the games.

He also thanked Narok Women Representative Rebecca Tonkei for supporting the competition, donating trophies to the winning teams in all the categories

The vice-chair urged the winning teams to intensify preparations ahead of the Rift Valley Regional Games and announced that Narok County will host the Term Two regional competitions, expressing confidence in the county’s readiness to stage a successful event.
