Musingu High School Chief Principal Bernard Toili Lukuya has rewarded top performing student Ray Mulama and his class teacher, Gwehona Patrick, with an all-expenses-paid flight from Kisumu to Nairobi,  a unique gesture celebrating academic excellence and inspiring a culture of success among learners.

The symbolic trip from Kisumu International Airport to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) recognized Mulama’s stellar performance after scoring 81 points in the recent mock examinations.

This marks the third consecutive year that the Kakamega-based national school has used flights and educational trips to motivate students, a practice that continues to yield impressive academic results.

“Our goal is to not only celebrate excellence but also inspire other students to understand that discipline, determination, and focus yield tangible rewards,” said Mr. Lukuya.

Under his leadership, Musingu has institutionalized creative motivational programs that extend beyond academics. Top achievers are rewarded with experiences such as university visits, game park tours, and now, domestic flights, aimed at broadening their worldview and sparking ambition.

“These experiences are meant to give learners a glimpse of what lies beyond the school gates and remind them that education is a powerful tool for transformation,” Lukuya added.
