Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM), a leading manufacturer of building solutions and a member of the Safal Group, has donated a substantial quantity of sanitary towels to the Machakos School for the Deaf.
The company’s Communications Officer Angela Masha said alongside, they also gave in-kind donations of essential food items.
She pointed out that MRM firmly believes that access to basic necessities such as sanitary towels should never stand as a barrier to education, especially for young girls.
The donation is part of MRM’s sustained corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts aimed at supporting local communities and enhancing the overall quality of life for those facing adversity.
“We are deeply committed to giving back to the communities that have supported us over the years. We recognize the paramount importance of education, and … this will help ensure that female students have access to the resources they need to continue their education comfortably and confidently,” Masha stated.
The event took place at the school nestled in the serene Machakos County.
School administrators, teachers and eager students joined representatives of MRM to receive the items.
The school head Bernice Matheka expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the gift hamper.
“This donation will greatly assist our female students and help create a more inclusive and comfortable learning environment for them,” she said.
Education has remained a central focus for MRM, with their philanthropic arm Safal MRM Foundation establishing the Mabati Technical Training Institute in Kilifi in 2005.
Located in Mariakani, the institute has positively impacted thousands of students since its inception.
