It was jubilation and dance at Nyamarambe town in South Mugirango Constituency of Kisii County when more than 500 parents met to thank the area MP and his friends for sponsoring the Form One students with Education Bursary Fund to enable them learn for the whole year.
Led by Benuel Manguti, the residents poured special accolades to DP William Ruto for donating Sh7.5 million through the area MP Sylivanus Osoro to suppliment the NG-CDF money slotted for the Education Bursary Fund.
The parents and guardians of the beneficiaries led by Gucha South KNUT Chairnan, Mr.Obiri Mochama, termed Ruto’s gesture, a bold step that minded the development of education in this country.
“We need leaders who have the well being of the education development of our children at heart irrespective of their political affiliations,” said Mr Jared Nyagosia.
At some point at the South Mugirango NG-CDF Constituency office, the happy parents demanded to carry the seating MP shoulder high for the good work but were restrained by his bodyguards.
The excited parents vowed to vote for in William Ruto as president in big numbers during the forth coming National elections.
“We want keaders who walk the talk like our Deputy President,” commented Grace Omwoyo.
In his terse speech that was interrupted with praises and ululations, MP Sylivanus Osoro said that his first agenda in the constituency was to unite the residents to support development through quality education.
He disclosed that he coordinaded more than more than 100 friends who donated money to top up the the NG-CDF to prop the education development.
He revealed that his friends donated more than she Sh20 million that will sponsor the Form One students in the constituency to complete the first year period smoothly.
He said that more than 20 of the students benefited from the programme.
“We shall embrace this approach next year but will alternate from one class to another,” he briefed.
Osoro said that students at National schools got the highest amounting Sh22,000 each while those in Extra County and County Schools received Sh15,500 and Sh8000 respectively.
He said that the the total orphans were given priority then followed by those raised by single parents and those who come from poor homes but are bright.
He asked the recepients of Education Bursary Funds to work hard in School in order to realize their academic potential.
The vivacious MP appealed to professionals and his political critics to join hands and support education development instead of engaging in political rhetoric.
