Kanduyi Member of Parliament, (MP) John Makali, has urged the national government through the Ministry of Education to fast track a timely release public schools capitation funds to rescue them from continuous suffering.
Addressing the Press at St Mary’s Kibabii Boys National School after attending its dedication ceremony following its upgrade, the Kanduyi legislator said that Principals are grappling with financial challenges due to the late release of the monies meant for tuition fees and other learning materials.
He added that this has forced school heads to frequently sent Learners away to bring school fees and yet they are nearly about to sit for their end term exams and even KCSE.

Makali also urged school principals to release withheld certificates owed to fee arrears, noting that former students need them to pursue university education or seek employment and earn a living
“I urge school principals to release certificates they are still holding due to fee arrears. These young people need them to join universities or look for jobs so they can earn a living,” said Makali, “It is not the intention of the government to hold certificates, principals should be human enough and release certificates to students immediately.”
The MP also promised to use the NG-CDF Kitty funds to uplift infrastructure in all learning institutions in the Constituency hence applauding St Mary’s Kibabii Boys National School for being upgraded to a national status.
St Mary’s Kibabii Boys High School is now a fully-fledged National School, the very first ever in Kanduyi Constituency.

Makali noted that Kibabii has become a true education hub where a child can start in ECD, advance through primary and secondary school, attend university, and even secure a job, all without leaving the area.
“It shows the power of sustained investment in education,” he said.
His sentiments were echoed by the School’s Chief Principal Nicodemus Ogeto who promised to uphold the dignity of the school and carry the national status with pride
