MP launches New Primary school in Kisii to address pupil numbers surge

Bomachoge Borabu Member of Parliament, (MP) Obadiah Barongo has led the residents of Nyamisaro village in the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of Nyamisaro Primary School Centre of Excellence in Kisii County.

Speaking at Nyamisaro village in Boochi Ward during the ground breaking ceremony for the new school, Barongo said in his leadership scope, he is so keen with the education as it is the only equalizer weapon towards poverty eradication and development.

“Education remains one of the key priorities in my manifesto and I am happy today we have been able to launch this project which will uplift the learning standards and serve the community of Nyamisaro.” He said.

The legislature also asked parents to support all education programmes for the growth of their children as they are the mainstay tools of development adding that without proper foundations education will be a mirage.

He promised to use more money from NG-CDF to construct modern classrooms in every school in the constituency to support quality education.

He revealed that within a period of three years, his office has been able to construct 17 Centres of education excellence spread across the constituency and hoped to add more to cater for the ever growing population of children in the region.

He praised the good work done by the two area chiefs Charles Orenge and David Mageto for controlling the use of illicit beer, chang’aa and other drugs among teenagers by encouraging them to continue with their secondary education and joining Vocational Training Institutes.

Former Boochi Borabu Ward MCA Samuel Onuko asked the residents to evaluate leaders by their development projects on the ground and support them for reelection instead of depending on handouts from them.

He cited the renovation of Ritembu and Emesa secondary Schools that received immense support from the MP’s office and asked the residents to be supportive to him because he has good intentions of supporting development in the area.

Onuko asked residents to work hard in their tea farms to enable them get good yields that will help them to support their children’s education instead of depending on the government’s support alone.

The residents took a swipe at the area MCA Nicodemus Omwamba whom they alleged has never supported the construction of even a single ECDE classroom since he was elected in the ward.

They asked the MCA who was conspicuously absent in the meeting, to join hands with other leaders in the region for the quick development of Boochi Borabu Ward.

They asked him to bench mark with his counterpart from Bombaba Borabu Ward MCA Beatrice Makwae, whom they said has made good strides in the development of ECDE sector in her ward.
