Mavoko Member of Parliament Patrick Makau has called on the Government to increase the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation to help in smooth implementation of Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Speaking during a visit to schools in his constituency, Makau highlighted the difficulties primary schools are grappling with including inadequate facilities required for the CBC programme.

“Many schools in Mavoko are struggling due to a lack of adequate resources such as classrooms, laboratories, equipment, and desks,” Makau said.

“With the constituency’s rapidly growing population, these facilities are stretched thin, leading to overcrowded classrooms and a strain on available infrastructure.”

He emphasized that additional funding would enable lawmakers to expand school infrastructure and provide essential resources to enhance learning under the CBC framework.

He disclosed that soon he will be issuing bursary cheques and asked needy parents to ensure they apply for their kids.
