MP in Bungoma launches KSh52 million bursary fund for needy students

Webuye East Member of Parliament Martin Wanyonyi has launched a KSh52 million bursary programme aimed at supporting underprivileged students in the constituency.

The event, held at Sipala Secondary School, brought together school Principals and education stakeholders across the constituency.

MP Wanyonyi highlighted the importance of investing in education to empower the youths and drive development.

He reaffirmed his dedication to reducing educational inequalities, saying, “This bursary is a step toward creating equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their background.”

Aggrey Ligami, area chairperson of the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association, commended the MP’s efforts and urged parents to play their role in their children’s education.

“The MP has done his part. It’s now up to parents to support their children and ensure they remain focused on their studies,” he remarked.

Paul Rono, the Sub-county Education Director, assured the principals that capitation funds for schools would be released by the end of the month.
