Miss Gladys Maghema couldn’t hide her joy at being ranked the best student during Coast Institute of Technology’s 9th graduation ceremony.

The mother of one was pursuing a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management, a course she registered for after she was unable to enroll for a Community Development course due to lack of school fees.

“I had to enroll for the course after my job demanded that I equip myself with more knowledge and skills,” she said.

She went on to add that the new course will enable her establish herself well in her job place and seek promotion.

Speaking about her experience in CIT, Maghema   said her journey to excellence hasn’t been an easy one.

“I had to balance my work, studies and taking care of my child. Looking back, it’s been worth it.  CIT has given me so much experience that will be very useful in my life. I thank God for being with me throughout,” she said.

Impressed by the remarkable support received from CIT trainers, Maghema said she would over and again encourage fellow youth to enroll in the institute and kick start their career journey.

“The institution has different learning modes to accommodate everyone.  There are full time, part time and distance learning courses,” she said.

“I would love to tell every young person around the country that CIT offers the best courses in artisans, certificates, diploma and higher diploma.  The institution is in a conducive environment   for learning and the trainers and supporting staff are very friendly,” she explained.

Maghema says that if she isn’t buried in her books or even at work, she enjoys singing and cooking during her free time.
