MoE appoints, transfers Quality Assurance & Standards Officers nationwide

Prof (Amb) Julius Bitok, PS for Basic Education.

The Ministry of Education has announced appointments and transfers of new County and Regional Quality Assurance and Standards Officers (QASOs).

Those affected by the recent changes include QASO boss Dr. Silvans Seje, who was transferred from Muranga County to Trans Nzoia County, replacing Maurice Akala, who has been transferred to Homabay County.

The MoE also moved the immediate Homabay QASO chief, Maurice Nyadhianga, to Nandi County in a similar capacity to replace John Osundwa.

Osundwa, who was acting county QASO boss, has been appointed substantively and posted in Nyamira County, where he will replace Milkah Arucho.

The Ministry relocated Arucho to Bungoma County, where she will assume the position vacated by Robert Moseti, who has been promoted to Regional Director Quality Assurance (RDQAS) and deployed to Nairobi.

Also affected is Laikipia County’s QASO (CQASO) boss, Dr Amadi Mugasia, who has been transferred to Migori County in a similar capacity.

Dr Amadi takes over from Ann Kangethe, who moves to Uasin Gishu County, where she replaces Harrison Indimuli, who was promoted to regional director and posted to Embu County.

Also moved is Peter Ogada, who was in charge of QASO Nyandarua County; he has been reassigned to the regional director office for new duties.

The Ministry also promoted Alex Bii from a sub-county in Nakuru County to Regional Director in charge of Central. It is also understood that Ruiru Sub-county QASO (SCQASO) has been moved to Jogoo House to take up new responsibilities.

Education News also learned that Oda Oyola, who has been the Sub-County QASO officer in Butere, Kakamega County, has been moved to the Regional Director’s Office in Kakamega County.

The changes come after a number of transfers of County Directors by MoE, which has seen some other County Directors of Education demoted.
