The devastating discovery of a 17-year old girl’s lifeless body in a dam near her home in Tala Kithimani, Matungulu Sub-county of Machakos County has left the community reeling with grief.
The girl who was not identified immediately had been missing since last Friday, adding a layer of anguish to this tragic turn of events.
Nguluni Chief Serah Mutua, confirming the heartbreaking news, disclosed that the dam, situated a mere 100 metres from the girl’s residence, became the site of a sombre recovery mission.
She revealed that the girl was a form four student at Sengani Girls High School.
In light of this tragedy, Mutua issued a poignant call to action, urging parents to maintain open communication with their children.
“It’s crucial for parents to talk to their children regularly, to truly listen and understand when things are not okay,” she emphasized.
The body has been taken to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital mortuary as investigations into the incident commence.
