Meru School students and teachers broke into songs and dance to celebrate their outstanding performance in the 2024 KCSE results.
This is after the school defended its position among academic giants in Meru County when its class got a mean score of 9.36 marks.
Out of the class of 489 candidates who sat for the exams a whopping 52 boys scored straight A’s, 83 A-, 110 B+, 100B, 77 B-, and 35 C+.
This means 405 candidates from the school will be transitioning to university.
Meru School Chief Principal Mwenda Rutere said the performance was a slight improvement from a mean score of 8.8 in 2023.
“We are excited that 457 out of 489 candidates attained University entry grades. This is out of sheer hard work, discipline and prayers,” he said.
“It is not a simple task to ensure close to 500 students perform well. The teachers and all other stakeholders did a stellar job.”
St Mary’s Igoji maintained a top position in the county but recorded a decline in its mean score compared to 2023.
