MCK, Zizi Afrique and RELI -Africa sign MoU to promote education reporting

Zizi Afrique Foundation, Regional Education and Learning (RELI-Africa) and the Media Council of Kenya have signed an A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a media collaborative between the three organizations and their partners.

The partnership strengthens evidence-based and impactful education reporting across Kenya, with a strong focus on Competency-Based Education (CBE).

The agreement includes education reporting guidelines in the context of CBE, revival of education desks in newsrooms and story grants to education journalists.

It also entails mentorship programs for journalists, media and CSOs engagement workshops, public engagement campaigns on key education issues and also education reporting award, which will be through the Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA).

The Media Council of Kenya is an independent national institution established by the Media Council Act for purposes of setting of media standards and ensuring compliance with those standards.

While Zizi Afrique Foundation is a not-for-profit company committed to improving learning outcomes for children and youth furthest behind.

RELI Africa is also a not-for-profit regional non-governmental organization, member-driven and peer learning initiative that brings together over fifty Civil Society Organizations from the East African region working on education with the main aim to enhance learning outcomes in our education systems so that no child is left behind.
