Mbooni Girls students injured in bus accident on way to Machakos

Mbooni Girls students were injured when this vehicle veered off the road and landed in a ditch yesterday as they travelled towards Machakos.

Several students of Mbooni Girls High School were injured when a public service vehicle they were traveling in was involved in a road accident in Makueni County yesterday.

The students were injured when a bus owned by Tawala Sacco overturned on the Kikima-Machakos road in the Kali area of Mbooni.

Eyewitnesses reported that the driver of the motor vehicle lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and overturn, resulting in the injuries.

The bus traveling from Mbooni towards Machakos was severely damaged, with its front windscreen shattered.

The number of occupants in the motor vehicle at the time of the incident and the extent of their injuries were not clear.

Rescuers quickly transported the victims to hospital for treatment.

“The injured persons have been rushed to Kikima and Machakos Level 5 hospitals in Makueni and Machakos respectively for medication,” said an eye witness.
