A 30 year old boda boda rider from Iranda village in Kisii county narrowly escaped death after irate villagers invaded his house owing to allegations that he sodomized a 17 year old boy living with disabilities.
The villagers were restrained by the area chief and nyumba kumi groups.
The victim revealed that the rider found him by the roadside and promised to give him bananas if he accompanied him to his house.
However, things changed for the worse when the rider locked the boy inside the house, defiled him and privately released him to go home.
The boy further narrated that he had difficulties going for long call and informed his mother about the same.
The mother alerted the villagers who took the defiled boy to Iranda Health Centre and thereafter stormed the suspect’s house. A series of medical tests run on the boy confirmed that he had been defiled and that he needed treatment.
Kisii County police Commander Charles Kesses confirmed that the suspect is in custody at Nyatieko Police Station and will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
