Man, 25, arrested for allegedly killing Mount Kenya varsity student

Detectives from Thika West Sub-county Police Station have apprehended a 25-year-old student at Tom Mboya University over an alleged murder of 19-year-old Faith Musembi who was his girlfriend.

Faith was a student at Mount Kenya University.

The suspect, David Kioko who hails from Machakos County was arrested after investigations pointed that he may have killed Faith due to infidelity.

Confirming the arrest, the station boss Lawrence Muchangi revealed that the suspect who is believed to be in a relationship with the deceased at the time of her unfortunate death will be held at the station as the authorities continue with investigations.

“We have the main suspect in custody and are conducting thorough investigations. The DCIO is on that matter and the suspect will be produced in court soon,” Muchangi told one of the local media.

The death of Faith which was discovered last week by her father who discovered her lifeless body at rented apartment in Pilot Estate, Thika took everyone aback as she was eight months expectant and full of potential as described by her kin.

Faith’s parents who are still in shock are calling on the authorities to ensure that justice is served.

“We want the authorities to ensure that the person responsible for this heinous act is punished to the fullest extent of the law,” said the deceased’s father, Boniface Musembi.

According to an autopsy conducted at the Thika General Kago Funeral Home, where the girl’s body is lying, Faith succumbed due to excessive bleeding caused by abruption placenta.
