Malava Special Needs School gets Sh1 million boost for dormitory, classrooms

President Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet disburses Sh1 million to Malava Special Needs School to support the construction of dormitories and classrooms, pledging continued government commitment to inclusive education.

President William Ruto’s aide, Faruok Kibet, has disbursed Sh1 million to support Malava Special School for the construction of a dormitory and classrooms.

Speaking during the empowerment programme for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Malava  Constituency,  he confirmed that the special needs school  is congested with a poor boarding section, forcing learners to sleep in the classrooms

The school, which is in a sorry state  with inadequate classrooms,  has resulted in learners having  lessons under one roof

Farouk pledged for his unwavering support to the special needs school affirmed  that Kenya Kwanza government is committed to infrastructure development in schools as the only way to develop Malava Constituency

He lauded PWDs for educating their children despite their health challenges”Disability is not inability, when PWDs become successful the whole country will be uplifted,” Farouk emphasized.

The president’s aide assured that United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, the ruling Party will work in partnership with the school’s administration  and  the constituency chairperson for PWDs Moses Wasike to make sure that PWDs are given due respect and their demands are met as stipulated in the constitution

As PWDs  have educated their children, Farouk urged them  apply for job opportunities and will be short listed on timely  basis, issued with jobs immediately

Malava disability caucus asked Farouk through President Ruto to prioritize and support education among the disabled children in schools and colleges   warning teachers against sending away disabled children for school fees

During  the empowerment programme PWDs called for efforts from the government to revitalise Vocational Training centre  for disabled children to venture in  shoe making, tailoring and other skills to uplift  their livelihoods.
