Machogu gifts Kolanya Girls, St Paul’s Amukura KSh20 million for infrastructure upgrade

Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekile Machogu has donated KSh20 million to  Kolanya Girls High School and St Paul’s Amukura High for infrastructure upgrade. Each school will receive KSh10 million cheque, to accommodate the population of students.

The two schools have been calling on the Ministry of Education and county leadership to help them in improving their infrastructure to accommodate on its ballooning student population.

Kolanya Girls’ will use the fund to construct a proposed administration and tuition block which was proposed in 2023.

He also added that the government is planning to employ 20,000 teachers to tackle the unrealistic student teachers ratio in schools in the country.

In 2019, Kolanya came into a harsh public critic when pictures of its students trekking to fetch water trended in social media, inviting the rage from angry Kenyans.
