Machakos University today marked its 10th graduation ceremony in a colourful event which show 2,039 graduates conferred with various degrees and diplomas certificates.
The event graced by the Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba, marked a major milestone in the institution’s journey of academic excellence and growth.
CS Ogamba congratulated the graduands for their remarkable achievement that reflects their dedication, resilience, and pursuit of knowledge.
He hailed the institution for its steadfast commitment to producing skilled, competent, and innovative professionals who are ready to contribute meaningfully to the country’s social and economic development.

Machakos University was founded in 1957 as a Technical Rural Training School, later becoming a public university in 2016 after being chartered. The institution has gone through several name changes and upgrades, including becoming the Machakos University College in 2011 before its final upgrade to a fully-fledged university in 2016.
The University has a total of 13, 000 students pursuing different courses, 457 staff members and so far boast of 7000 alumni already released to the job market.
The institution has a strong pedagogical premise for quality teaching and training in order to achieve its mandate of ensuring accessible, affordable, flexible and relevant academic programmes for the changing socio-economic and other societal needs.
