Fallen Otamba Girls High School Principal Ruth Nyangaga has been celebrated as an astute motherly scholar who discharged her leadership skills with passion.
During her funeral service at the school she led before her demise, County Commissioner Joseph Kibet said an accident has robbed the country of a dedicated school leader, calling upon motorists to be careful especially in this rainy season to save lives.
The principal perished in a hit and run road accident at her Chabera home as she was going for a weekend church service two weeks ago.

She was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu where she breathed her last as she underwent treatment.
At Otamba in Nyaribari Chache Constituency, tears from both students and the community flowed freely as horns and flutes were blown in a frenzied atmosphere.
Then the convoy escorting the casket snaked out of the school heading to Homa Bay for burial.
Until her death, Orwaru was the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) vice chair for Kisii Central Sub-county.
