Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu has officially opened Naiborom Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centre in Olmoran Ward in Laikipia West Sub-county.
The governor emphasised on the need for leaders to promote education to enable the youth to match into the future with courage.
The governor said Laikipia can only grow if the leaders have the passion of supporting the youth acquire education.
“This classroom was made possible through a partnership between the Guernsey Overseas Aid and Development Commission and Laikipia County Government,” said the governor.

The partnership facilitated the construction and equipping the classroom to help the learners and teachers interact effectively as provided in the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).

The county government also donated a 10,000-litre capacity water tank, as the area is faced with acute shortage of water.
Among those who accompanied the governor included County Executive Committee Member for Education Stephen Kisorio, and Finance Chief Officer Daniel Ngumi.
