Form Four leavers seeking places at the new Ronald Ngala Utalii College in Kilifi have been allowed to receive face-to-face assistance as the deadline for applications to the September intake approaches.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has deployed officers to Kilifi, Kwale and Tana River counties to help prospective students understand the application process and choose suitable hospitality and tourism courses.

The four-day exercise ends on Saturday, August 22, a day before the August 23 deadline for applications.

The agency is targeting young people interested in certificate and diploma training at the new college, which is located in Vipingo, Kilifi County.

KUCCPS urged applicants who have not submitted their applications or are experiencing difficulties with the online process to make use of the centres.

“KUCCPS welcomes Form Four leavers for sensitisation and guidance on ongoing applications to Kenya Utalii College, Ronald Ngala Campus. Don’t struggle when help is near you,” the agency said.

Ronald Ngala Utalii College is expected to admit its first group of 1,000 students when it opens on September 1, 2026.

Applicants for diploma courses require a minimum KCSE mean grade of C plain, together with the prescribed subject requirements, while those seeking certificate courses need at least a C-.

The support programme is intended to assist applicants who may be unfamiliar with the placement system, including those seeking clarification on course requirements and the application procedure.

Applicants requiring assistance can contact KUCCPS through 020-5137400 or 0713-924 444.

The new campus is expected to increase access to specialised hospitality and tourism training in the Coast region, which is one of the country’s major tourism hubs.

The September application follows an earlier exercise in March, when KUCCPS opened applications for 13 certificate and diploma programmes at the Kenya Utalii College main campus in Nairobi.

That process marked the first time Kenya Utalii College was incorporated into the central placement system, allowing applicants to seek admission through the KUCCPS platform.
