Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), has released a detailed guideline for students seeking to apply for the Inter-University transfers for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The process allows students who were placed in universities and colleges to change their institutions or programs, subject to set conditions.
According to KUCCPS only students who were officially placed by the agency are eligible to apply for a transfer.
Important Instructions for the transfer process is as follows;
Eligibility:
You must have been placed by KUCCPS in the course or program from which you intend to transfer from.
Program Requirements:
You can only apply to transfer to a program for which you meet the minimum entry requirements, including the applicable cut-off points from your placement year.
Course Validity:
The program you are applying to must have been offered during the placement year.

Single Application Rule:
Each applicant can only apply to one program during the transfer process and is allowed only one transfer throughout the duration of their course.
Program Code:
Once you’ve selected a preferred program, only the 7-character Program Code is needed for the application.
Finding programs:
Use the “Programs” or “Institutions” tab on the KUCCPS portal to explore available courses and their requirements.
Application Procedure:
Visit the KUCCPS student portal and click on the “Transfer Applications” tab. follow all instructions carefully to initiate your request.
Application Fee:
A non-refundable fee of Ksh 1,000 is required for the transfer application. Payment is made via M-PESA only when prompted at the submission stage. Do not send money unless prompted.

Transaction Code:
Safely keep your M-PESA transaction code as it may be required later.
Tracking Progress:
Once submitted, students cant track the status of their transfer application via their KUCCPS student portal
Students are therefore advised to follow the outlined instructions and adhere to all deadlines. Payments should only be made during the designated application window.
