KUCCPS opens online application for KMTC September 2025 intake

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened the application window for the September 2025 intake at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

In a public notice issued on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, KUCCPS announced that the intake marked the opening of opportunities for learners interested in joining the medical field through certificate and diploma programs offered at KMTC campuses across the country.

The application period began on Monday, June 23, and will run until July 7th 2025. KUCCPS has encouraged interested students to ensure they meet the admission criteria and to submit their details within the set timeline. Applications must be submitted via the student portal before the deadline.

The placement body has emphasized on the importance of using official communication channels and avoiding intermediaries who may mislead applicants or charge unauthorized fees. Additionally KUCCPS stated that only applications made through the official portal will be considered. Applicants are urged to carefully review course requirements and eligibility criteria before applying.

Courses on Offer are:

Diploma options include Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Radiography and Imaging, Mortuary Science, Medical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy, and Community Health, among others. Certificate programs include Enrolled Community Health Nursing, Health Records and Information Technology, Medical Emergency Technician, and Public Health, among others.

How to Apply

  1. Access the KMTC student portal
  2. Log in with your KCSE Index Number, exam year, and password (Birth Certificate or KCPE Index Number).
  3. Click “KMTC Programmes” to review available courses and download the program list.
  4. Select up to four course codes in order of preference.
  5. Submit your application via the “KMTC Application” tab.
  6. A Ksh1,500 fee will be required upon submission, with payment instructions provided within the portal.

KMTC plays a vital role in shaping the country’s healthcare workforce. As a State Corporation under the Ministry of Health, it was founded through an Act of Parliament to train health professionals who serve not only Kenya, but also the wider East African region.

With a presence in every corner of the country through its 90 campuses, KMTC ensures medical training is accessible to students nationwide. The college’s academic offering is both broad and specialized, comprising 126 courses spread across 18 academic departments and housed within 7 faculties ranging from nursing and pharmacy to medical engineering and public health.
