Koyonzo boys’ Rugby team to represent East Africa in world secondary school games in Germany

Koyonzo boys’ high school from Kakamega County will be representing East Africa in the World Sevens Secondary Schools Games in Berlin Germany scheduled for October 24, 2023.

The school emerged winners after thrashing Vihiga High School 21-0 in Rugby 7’s at Huye City in Rwanda in the recently concluded (FEASSSA) East Africa Schools Games maintaining its winning streak from Sub-County, County, Regional and National levels.

The blistering performance also saw Siketa Jackson from the institution bag the trophy of the most valuable player of the tournament.

In ranking Vihiga High School came second and Jinja Secondary School from Uganda followed at position three.

Kitondo Secondary from Kenya took position four as St. Mary’s Yala from Kenya closed the gap at position five.

In the rugby 15’s St. Mary’s Kisubi were crowned winners after maintaining their spectacular streak throughout the entire championship.

Also in this category, Butula Boys from Kenya bagged the silver medal followed by St. Anthony Kitale who settled for the bronze medal.

Defending champions Namilyango withdrew from the championship.
