K’olale thanks UASU members for support as he leaves office

The outgoing University Academic Staff Union (UASU) National Chairman Prof. Muga K’Olale has urged those officials who will be elected today to continue defending and supporting the union.

Addressing the delegates today at Nakuru Athletics Club before the commencing of today’s national elections, Prof K’Olale thanked the members and the national officials he served with for their dedication during his tenure notably in delivering the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

The national election which is currently ongoing has attracted a total of 42 contestants who are seeking to fill the now 10 vacant positions in the union national officials. 

The seats which are expected to be hotly contested include that of the Secretary General which is currently being held by Dr. Constantine Wasonga, who will be battling it off with Prof. Kubasu Kwashe from Masinde Muliro University of Science and  Technology (MMUST).

The National Chairperson which was being held by Prof. K’Olale has attracted three contestants who are Dr. Richard Bosire from University of Nairobi chapter, Grace Nyongesa from Kisii University chapter, and Muiga Rugara.
