“The talks are at advance level and I want to ask our teachers to remain patient. The last CBA was non-monetary but this time round, we must have salary increase for our teachers who work hard to ensure the country’s education is a success,” said Korir.

KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu has since revealed that they have held a series of talks with TSC concerning the CBA.

“The implementation of the second phase of the CBA amended phase has already started.  We have presented a memorandum to TSC and we want to make sure that this time round, it shall not be a maternity CBA as it was,” noted Oyuu.

TSC on the other hand announced that it has received Ksh1.1 billion for promotions, which it says is insufficient, but vowed to push for the timely release of the funds.
