Kibwezi branch, Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), Gabriel Kisilu has expressed the union’s gratitude for the recent CBA agreement with the government.
Speaking at Kalulini Secondary School during the commissioning of the Olympic swimming pool, Kisilu asked teachers to wait for the official circular from the government, which would notify them of the increases for each individual according to their job group.
“Let’s wait for the official circular from the government so that each individual can know their salary increment depending on each job group,” Kisilu said.

He called upon the government to fasten the release of capitation and, at the same time, try to increase it.
“You see, teachers and students have been suffering. Many principals are on the verge of depression. Kindly try to release the capitation in time,” Kisilu added.
He noted at the same time that schools are about to close, reminding parents to take up their full role. He reminded them not to let children be idle at home but to engage them in home chores, as well as to revise.
