University and college students from Kisumu County have vowed not to be used by politicians from undermining the broad-based Government.
The students who converged in Kisumu pointed out that the government of President William Ruto has also embraced youth via a number of programs.
Led by Maseno University students’ President Victor Otieno the comrades said that the current funding model has ensured that all beneficiaries right from middle level colleges to institutions of higher learning benefit.
Otieno said the broad based government should now reach more students, alluding that no student will be used by any politician for political expediencies.
The Kisumu National polytechnic student President Silas Adem said many young people are now benefiting through government programs such as affordable housing programs and NYOTA.

Emelda Atieno, a trainee from the same institution said they will support the government of the day given projects so far initiated in many parts of Kisumu County.
“The people of Kisumu County did not vote for the Kenya Kwanza government but that has not prevented the government from bringing development to the region,” she said.
She said none of them will be killed this time through demonstrations since the disturbances have in the past cost them a great deal.
Earlier the students had suggested that it is the time the government implement a universal education system where all benefit.
