Kisii University has initiated comprehensive investigations following reports circulating on social media that some students are facing challenges in accessing their academic transcripts, with allegations that a few have been compelled to pay unauthorized fees to obtain the documents.

In a public statement released on November 7, 2025, by the Corporate Communications Department, the University expressed deep concern over the claims that certain individuals have been demanding between Ksh100 and Ksh150 from students in exchange for expedited processing of transcripts.

The institution, however, clarified that no formal complaint had been received from any student regarding the matter.

“The University views these allegations with utmost seriousness. Such actions, if proven, constitute a grave violation of the University’s ethical standards, operational procedures, and commitment to integrity and accountability,” the statement read.

The administration emphasized that all official services are rendered transparently, guided by established academic and administrative procedures, and not subject to personal negotiation or informal transactions.

The University announced that it has already initiated thorough investigations to uncover the truth and identify any individuals—whether internal or external—who may be responsible.  The management assured that decisive action will be taken against anyone found culpable.
