Bomachoge Borabu MP Obadiah Barongo has accused Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba of failing to fulfil a Ksh10 million pledge meant for the development of Kenyenya Teachers’ Training College (TTC).
Speaking to over 20 secondary school principals at Mokubo Secondary School in Magenche Ward, Barongo said the CS had promised Ksh 10 million for the college’s development but had not honored the commitment.
“The government must keep its word to our institutions. Promises made to Kenyenya TTC should be delivered without delay,” Barongo stated.
The MP also criticized President William Ruto’s administration for what he described as giving education a low priority. He urged residents of Bomachoge Constituency to make their decision at the ballot in the 2027 general election if the situation does not improve.

Barongo thanked Kisii Governor Simba Arati for donating Ksh 50 million towards the improvement of Kenyenya Sub-County Hospital, noting that it is the main health facility serving students and residents in the region. However, he blamed the county administration for the delayed expansion of the hospital over the last four years, saying action was only being taken as the election period approaches.
He further cautioned students against following politicians who make false promises, warning that such behavior sets a bad example for the youth.
