Kibabii University picked as a KUCCPS support centre

Kibabii

Kibabii University in Bungoma County has been picked as a center for the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).

Speaking to Education News from his office, the university’s Vice Chancellor Prof Ipara Odeo said the move will enable students, especially those from Western region, to send in their requests for University, Colleges and TVET institutes placements.

“This is a rare opportunity to our beloved University. Let us utilize it well as it will give guidance to students seeking to join institutions of higher learning countrywide,” Odeo said.

Prof Odeo lauded the national government for opening up opportunities for all students who sat for the Kenya Certificate Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, noting that everybody can join their favorite University, College or TVET institute to pursue education.

He pointed out that the KUCCPS guides students planning to join institutions of higher learning through sieving and checking on the grade distribution before allowing a student to proceed with the course.

He urged students who didn’t attain direct university entry grades to join middle level colleges and pursue their favorite courses and later proceed for degree courses at the University level.

The TV asked the government to increase university funding and to release the funds on time to enable smooth running of programmes.
