Kibabii University donates Ken Walibora books to Kitale Museum Library

Kibabii University has donated hundreds of books authored by the late Professor Ken Walibora to the Kitale Museum Library, a move aimed at promoting knowledge transfer and literary appreciation.

The books are now housed in the newly established Ken Walibora Corner, a dedicated section within the library created in honour of the renowned playwright and novelist.

 Vice-Chancellor Prof Isaac Ipara led the university delegation and announced that the library would receive approximately 400 additional books from the Africa Library Project, thereby broadening access to diverse literary works.

“In the future, we plan to provide portraits of Walibora, audio recordings of his interviews, and additional bookshelves to enhance the space,” said Professor Ipara.

County Secretary Truphosa Amere described the reading space as a sanctuary of knowledge, where young minds can explore the beauty of language and storytelling. She praised Walibora as a literary icon whose works continue to shape generations of readers and scholars.

On behalf of Governor George Natembeya, Amere conveyed gratitude for the partnership between Kibabii University and the County Government, emphasizing its positive impact on education and cultural development.
