Kesogon Mixed Secondary School in Trans Nzoia County is gearing up to host the third edition of the Kesogon Open Volleyball Tournament, a two-day sporting event expected to draw top schools and club teams from across the region.
Scheduled for May 2-3, 2026, the tournament has steadily grown into a key fixture on the local volleyball calendar, attracting participants from primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, and self-supporting clubs.
Organizers say this year’s edition will feature intense competition in both men’s and women’s categories, as teams battle for top honours and bragging rights. The event is also expected to serve as a platform for identifying emerging talent at the grassroots level.
“The Kesogon Open continues to provide a competitive environment where young athletes can showcase their skills and gain exposure,” said the school’s games department in a statement accompanying the tournament announcement.

Teams have been placed in two registration categories, with high schools and senior clubs paying Ksh 2,500 per team, while primary, junior, and self-supporting teams will pay KSh 1,500. Organizers have emphasized early confirmation of participation to ensure smooth planning.
Participants will be required to meet key conditions, including carrying their own playing equipment such as balls, nets, and kits, as well as packed meals during the competition period.
At stake are cash prizes, trophies, and certificates for the top three teams, a reward package that is likely to intensify the level of competition on the court.
With previous editions drawing competitive sides and enthusiastic crowds, expectations are high for an even bigger and more exciting tournament this year. Schools and clubs are already lining up for registration, signaling a strong turnout.
As the countdown begins, all eyes will be on Kesogon Mixed Secondary School grounds, where action-packed volleyball clashes are set to define the early May sporting scene.
