Kaya Tiwi shine in basketball as Kenyan schools impress at FEASSA Games in Tanzania

Kaya Tiwi led Kenya’s basketball charge on Match Day Four of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSA) Games in Morogoro, Tanzania, as Kenyan schools continued to produce encouraging performances in basketball, volleyball, netball and lacrosse.

Kaya Tiwi delivered one of the biggest results for Kenya, defeating Tanzania’s Uru Community 90-49 in girls’ basketball.

The 41-point victory demonstrated the Kenyan side’s attacking quality and defensive strength as the competition entered a crucial phase.

Kesogon impress in volleyball

In volleyball, Kesogon also registered a convincing victory, defeating Uganda’s Lumala 3-0.

The Kenyan side controlled the match and secured maximum advantage as teams battled for progression in their respective groups.

Kenya’s representatives in netball faced a tougher challenge, with Bukhokholo going down 77-26 to Uganda’s St Mary’s Kitende.

Despite the defeat, the Kenyan side remains in contention and will be seeking a stronger response in its next matches.

St Joseph’s Girls dominate lacrosse

Lacrosse has also provided exciting action, with Kenyan schools St Joseph’s Girls Kitale and St Charles Khalaha competing in the girls’ category.

St Joseph’s Girls Kitale produced an emphatic 24-7 victory over St Charles Khalaha, underlining their attacking strength and giving the Kenyan side a major boost.

The Match Day Four results underline Kenya’s depth in secondary school team sports, with the country competing against leading schools from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.

As the FEASSA Games enter the decisive stages, Kenyan teams will be looking to build on their victories and recover from setbacks as they chase regional honours in Morogoro.

The 2026 FEASSA Games are being held in Morogoro, Tanzania, bringing together thousands of secondary school athletes from across East Africa.
