West Pokot County erupted in celebration on Saturday as Madam Christine Kasheusheu, the newly elected Rift Valley Region KNUT NEC 007 representative, made her way home following her resounding victory in the union’s regional elections held at Tom Mboya Labour College in Kisumu.

Kasheusheu, who hails from West Pokot, was overwhelmingly elected by delegates in a hotly contested race, cementing her reputation as a respected leader within the teaching fraternity. Long before she crossed the boundary from Trans Nzoia into West Pokot, teachers, county personnel, and residents had gathered in anticipation of her arrival.

Her entry into Makutano town was marked by a grand procession of more than a hundred vehicles, bringing business to a standstill as jubilant residents lined the streets to welcome her. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as leaders and supporters showered her with praise, describing her victory as a milestone for teachers in the region.
