Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has attained a significant academic milestone after being conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Policy and Management from Kenyatta University.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Governor Barasa said the achievement was driven by a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and a commitment to enhancing his capacity to serve the people of Kakamega County and the nation at large.

“Driven by a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and a desire better to serve Kakamega County and the Republic of Kenya, I was today conferred a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy and Management at Kenyatta University,” Barasa said.
The county boss noted that education is a cornerstone of effective leadership.
He added that advanced training in public policy and management would bolster evidence-based decision-making, and service delivery and governance.
He further sent a congratulate message to fellow graduates who were conferred with various degrees during the ceremony, encouraging them to apply their knowledge purposefully in their respective fields.
Barasa concluded his message with the Latin phrase Cultura mentis, cultura vitae—education of the mind, culture of life.
