The University of Kabianga has described the Class of 2025 as a group poised to contribute fresh ideas, ethical leadership, and innovative thinking—qualities the institution says Kenya urgently needs as it navigates future economic and social challenges.

This was said during the Friday celebration, whereby leaders, university management and staff celebrated the graduating class describing them as Launchpad for a new generation of leaders equipped to drive national development.

The institution emphasized that the graduating cohort represents a shift toward innovation-driven learning, community service, and character-based leadership.

Speaking during the event, university officials noted that the Class of 2025 had distinguished itself through resilience and adaptability, completing its academic journey at a time institutions continue to recover from economic pressures and shifting education demands.

The graduates were urged to take up roles that contribute to economic growth, public service efficiency, and social transformation.

The ceremony gained special significance with the awarding of an Honorary Doctorate to Dr. Beatrice Chebet, one of Kenya’s most celebrated long-distance athletes.

The university said the honor recognizes her global achievements and her embodiment of values that mirror the institution’s academic philosophy.

“Dr. Chebet’s discipline, endurance, and global excellence represent the kind of spirit we want our graduates to carry into the world,” the Honorary Awards Committee said.

Her recognition was met with prolonged applause, with many noting that her journey offers a powerful lesson on the rewards of consistency and ambition.

Graduates were encouraged to pursue opportunities with confidence and integrity, regardless of whether they transition into formal employment, entrepreneurship, or advanced studies.

Speakers reminded them that the skills gained at the university should be used to influence society positively, particularly in sectors such as technology, agriculture, education, business, and public administration.

Families, staff, and guests joined in celebrating the milestone, marking an emotional moment for students who have spent years preparing for professional life.
