JSS national ball games shifted from Kisii to Kakamega

Principal Secretary for Basic Education Dr Belio Kipsang. He has announced venue changes in the hosting of JSS Term Two Ball Games, from Kisii to Kakamega, where the primary school games will take place in July.

Term Two Ball Games for Junior Secondary School (JSS), which were scheduled to take place in Kisii County, have been moved to Kakamega for logistical purposes.

In a memo addressed to all the regional and County Directors of Education (CDE) dated June 18, 2024, Basic Education Principal Secretary (PS) Dr Belio Kipsang said that for proper coordination and management, the JSS national championship will be held concurrently with the primary school Term Two ball games in Kakamega as from July 30- August 7, 2024.

Belio said the 2024 national co-curricular activities calendar of events was planned that JSS competitions would be held separately from primary school ones and be at the venue where secondary schools would be competing.

“In this regard, you are directed that this year term two junior school national championship ball games be shifted from Kisii venue to Kakamega venue where primary term two ball games will be held as from July 30- August 7, 2024,” the memo reads in part.

The Kenya Primary Schools Sports Association (KPSSA) is in charge of JSS co-curricular activities on an interim basis before a final decision is made through the curriculum transition.
