Isambe loses his seat as Kuppet Executive Secretary in Vihiga

Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Vihiga branch Executive SecretaryNebert Isambe has lostto Sabala Inyeni in hotly contested branch elections.

The elections which were held on January 23, 2021 at Mbale Boys High School,  overseen by of Kuppet top official Catherine Wambilianga who is also the Bungoma women representative saw the incumbent get only 621 votes while his challenger garn 818 votes.

Other newly elected included Edward Matende as the vice executive secretar, Kulali Francis as the branch chairman, Linda Mudegu as vice-chairman, Benson Kidundu as treasurer and Lynn Lugadiru as the vice treasurer.

Carolyne Lusiji became the new organising secretary went, Priscilla Kanaiza to represent gender, Otiende Charles was elected secretary representing secondary and Edwin Onyango becoming the secretary for tertiary.

Those who were defeated in the closely monitored elections accepted defeat while those elected vowed to continue serving the interests of teachers. The conspicuous absence of legislator Milemba Omboko signified he did not want to take sides in his home turf and wanted members to exercise their democratic rights freely.
