Pupils at Muisuni Primary School in Kangundo Sub-county of Machakos County have a reason to smile after receiving a 12-door modern toilet.
The school had asked for help to build new toilets after the ones they were using collapsed due to heavy rains, thus glaring at a possible closure.
Area Member of County Assembly Moses Mitaa, in collaboration with the alumni of the school, heeded the call and constructed the toilets that will serve the whole school.

Speaking after commissioning the project, Mitaa said that sanitation is important in schools to avert diseases.
“The school risked closure due to lack of toilets. With the alumni we decided to move with speed and construct enough modern toilets for the school,” he said.
He thanked the alumni for according the matter the attention it deserved.
The county legislator challenged leaders in the community to get used to doing projects even without funds from the government for the betterment of the community.
