Grief in Migori as Head teacher passes on days after transfer

Family and friends are reeling in shock after their kin, Ronald Oyombe, lost his life over the weekend, days after being posted to Gogo Comprehensive School in Uriri sub-county, Migori County as the new school head.

According to the family spokesperson, Richard Oyombe, the late was heading home after visiting his new station on his motorbike when he had a head-on collision with a lorry along Migori-Sori road, near Akala Primary School, at around 8pm.

The lorry has been impounded and the driver is at large as police investigations begin.

Ronald served as the head teacher at Kawisa Primary School before the new appointment.

The spokesperson eulogized the deceased as a family man who was dedicated to his work and loved to leave an impact on his students.

“This is a great tragedy to the family and the teaching fraternity. Mr. Oyombe was a loving dad to his children, a kind-hearted man, eloquent, hardworking and very friendly,” said Richard.

The late teacher hails from Obolo, Muhuru Ward and has left behind six children and two wives. One of his daughters is set to sit for her KCSE exams in October.

He was aged 48 years old and his body is currently at the Migori District Hospital morgue awaiting post-mortem.

The family is planning for the burial slated for September 27, 2024.
