Grade 4 child in critical condition after Kisii accident

A Grade 4 child is fighting for her life in a local hospital after a harrowing road accident on the Kisii-Kilgoris highway in Kisii.

According to eyewitnesses, a speeding goods truck lost control, veering off course multiple times before tragically striking both the young girl and an unfortunate woman pedestrian named Mercy Ogembo from Mang’ere village.

They said that the other victim lost her life instantly, and her body was subsequently taken to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.

Meanwhile, the injured child has been admitted to the same hospital, receiving critical medical care.

The MCA for Boochi-Tendere Ward James Ondari has urgently appealed to the Roads Board Authority to install road bumps at this perilous spot.

He highlighted several areas along the highway, including Ogembo Highway, Itare junction, Tendere factory, and the new Gusii Mwalimu Sacco building, as high-risk zones.

Ondari further implored drivers and Matatu operators to exercise utmost caution on these roads to prevent further tragedies.
